“We had three quotes and these guys were the only ones who explained how they'd deal with the fall and the clay. The drive was poured, cut and sealed in under a week, and it still looks like the day they left. Every neighbour on the street has asked who did it.”

FAQ
Questions we get asked most
How long does a new driveway take?
Most residential driveways are a three to four day job: break out and cart away the old slab, prep and compact the base, then pour and finish. You get the dates in writing with the quote, before anyone turns up.
How long before I can drive on it?
Walk on it after 24 to 48 hours, and park a car on it after seven days. Heavy vehicles, trailers and skip bins should wait a full 28 days while the concrete reaches strength.
How much does concreting cost in Adelaide?
It depends on size, access, the finish you choose and what has to come out first, so we price on site rather than guessing over the phone. You get one fixed number and a written scope, and that is the number you pay.
Exposed aggregate or honed — which should I pick?
Exposed aggregate is grippier underfoot, hides marks and costs less, which is why most driveways go that way. Honed is smoother and more of a feature finish, better suited to entries, alfresco areas and modern facades. We'll bring samples to the quote.
Will it crack?
All concrete moves. We control where it happens with the right slab thickness, engineered mesh, correct mix and saw cuts at proper spacings — so you get fine, straight control joints instead of random cracking. Adelaide's reactive clay soils make this the part that matters most.
Do you handle council approval and crossovers?
Yes. If your job needs a council crossover permit or an inspection, we prepare the paperwork and book it in, and we pour to council specification so it passes first time.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Fully licensed and covered by public liability insurance. Happy to send the certificates through with your quote.
Do you remove the old concrete?
We do. Demolition, cartage and disposal are included in the quote, and the site is swept and hosed down before we leave.
How soon can you start?
Usually within one to three weeks depending on the weather and the pour schedule. If you have a settlement date or a builder waiting on a slab, tell us and we'll work to it.

Concrete driveways, slabs and paths across the Adelaide metro area
The Adelaide Concreter is a local, family-run concreting team working right across the Adelaide metro area and up into the Hills. We pour concrete driveways, house and shed slabs, footpaths, walkways, pool surrounds and alfresco areas — in plain grey, exposed aggregate and honed finishes — for homeowners, builders and small commercial sites.
Adelaide is hard on concrete. Reactive clay through the eastern and northern suburbs moves with the seasons, coastal sand needs different compaction again, and Hills blocks bring slope and drainage into every job. That's why we spend real time on the part you never see: excavation, base preparation and compaction, correct slab thickness, engineered mesh and mix, then saw-cut control joints at proper spacings so the slab moves where we decide it moves.
Every job starts with a free on-site measure and quote, with samples of each finish so you can see exactly what you're getting. You get one fixed price and a written scope up front, dates locked in before we start, and a site swept and hosed clean before we leave — plus a workmanship guarantee behind the pour.
